Advanced Placement Strategies™, Inc. (APS) is a non-profit corporation that works with Texas schools and the private sector to maximize the number of students passing Advanced Placement™ exams by planning, implementing, and managing Pre-AP® and AP Incentive Programs™ within the state of Texas.

Kathy Barrett
Art Consultant

  • Kathy has 32 years of teaching experience in Dallas area public schools. She taught English, AP® European History, and AP® Art History.
  • From 1999 to 2006, Kathy taught Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities at the University of Texas at Dallas .
  • Kathy was College Board Consultant for AP European History as well as AP Art History for numerous Summer Institutes and Conferences throughout the Southwest Region.
  • She also is an AP European History Consultant for Advanced Placement Strategies™ , Inc.
  • She served as AP Art History Lead Teacher for the O'Donnell Foundation Arts Incentive Program from 1994 to 2001.
  • Kathy holds degrees from the University of North Texas and Southern Methodist University.
