My work has been inspired by patterns, geometry, and close attention to detail. In attempting to make my piece realistic, I wove clay strips together, leaving a rougher texture, and finishing with shoe polish on the basket. Working with realism and geometry in nature, the bright red raku apples, although larger than life, exemplify realism by their carving and placement of seeds on the inside of the apple.
